GigSky, Bangalore: Local Impact for International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is observed to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. GigSky India celebrated International Women’s Day, 2016 in a befitting manner.
The Inspiration of Women Leaders in Tech
We organized a talk by Ms. Smitha Lahiri, a renowned leader and mentor for women in technology. She has over twenty years experience in Application Software delivery across Enterprise, Telecommunications and e-Governance, sixteen years of which have been at Intel US and Intel India. She currently serves as Program Chair for Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. Grace Hopper works in collaboration with Anita Borg Institute, a strong platform for women in technology to network and share ideas.
Ms. Lahiri spoke to our team about ways in which gender sensitization and diversity strengthen the workforce, as well as increasing business and revenue for organizations.
Outreach to Local NGO
We continued our recognition of International Women’s Day with a visit to local NGO. Cheshire Home Bangalore, which provides accommodation, education and general wellbeing of physically disabled female children and women. We spent some time with the children and shared some gifts with them.
Our Bangalore team had a wonderful day of learning and outreach.
Supporting and recognizing women is something we encourage everyday!
