A GigSky eSIM Greece plan gives you one eSIM you install once and reuse on every trip, with plans starting at $2.99 for a day of unlimited data and a free 500MB trial that needs no credit card.

You download the app, search Greece, pick a fixed or unlimited plan, and install it before you leave home so you arrive connected the moment you land.

It runs on Vodafone and Wind with 5G in most places, and if you carry an eligible Visa card from the Americas you unlock up to 10GB free. Here's how it works, from setup to top-ups.

What does an eSIM in Greece cost?

A GigSky eSIM Greece plan starts at $2.99 and comes in two shapes: unlimited plans billed by the day, and fixed data plans with a set allowance.

Unlimited plans are never capped, though speeds ease off after 3.5GB of high-speed data per day and reset the next day.

The free 500MB trial runs 7 days and needs no card, so you can test the Greece eSIM before you pay for anything.

How much data do you actually need in Greece?

Most travelers do fine on 5 to 10GB for a week on their eSIM Greece plan, and light users get by on far less.

If you're mostly on WhatsApp, maps, and a bit of social media, you'll burn through roughly 500MB a day, so a week runs around 2.5GB.

Stream video, upload a lot, or work on the road and you'll want an unlimited plan instead. If you want to size it properly, GigSky has a full guide to how many GB you need for travel.

What network and coverage does the Greece eSIM use?

Your GigSky eSIM for Greece connects to Vodafone and Wind, and you'll get 5G in most spots, dropping to 4G depending on where you are.

Because GigSky is a mobile operator rather than a reseller, your phone picks the strongest available network on its own, with no manual setup when you arrive.

That's also why GigSky can respond faster than resellers if anything goes sideways with your connection abroad.

How do you set up a GigSky eSIM for Greece?

Install the eSIM Greece plan before you fly, while you're on stable Wi-Fi, and you'll arrive in Greece already connected.

First check your phone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked. Dial *#06# and look for an EID number; if it shows, your phone supports eSIM.

On iPhone, open Settings, tap General, then About, scroll to Carrier Lock, and "No SIM restrictions" means you're unlocked. For other phones, here's how to check if your phone is unlocked.

Then set up the eSIM:

  1. Download the GigSky app.
  2. Search Greece in the app.
  3. Choose the plan that fits: a fixed data plan or an unlimited plan.
  4. Install the eSIM at least a day before you leave, or the same day, on a strong Wi-Fi connection.
  5. Land in Greece already connected, no manual switching required.

Does the eSIM work on Greek ferries and cruises?

Yes. Island-hopping by ferry is half the fun of Greece, and GigSky has ferry eSIMs covering Greek and European ferries starting at $7.99, so you stay connected between ports. See the GigSky ferry coverage

If a cruise is part of your trip, GigSky also has cruise eSIMs starting at $7 that work both at sea and in port across a single region, which saves buying a separate plan for every stop. You can browse cruise coverage and ships here.

Can you hotspot, and does it include calls?

You can share data over hotspot with your travel companions and your own other devices, though keep in mind that heavy sharing uses your data faster.

Plans are data-only, so there's no local number or SMS. For calls, use WhatsApp or FaceTime, which is what most travelers do anyway.

Running low mid-trip?

Because you reuse the same eSIM on every trip, topping up is quick. Open the GigSky app, go to My Plans, and add data.

You'll also get a heads-up when you've used 80% of your allowance, so a top-up never catches you off guard.

Can you get free data in Greece with a Visa card?

If you have an eligible Visa card issued in the Americas, in the US, Canada, or Latin America, you can unlock up to 10GB of free data in Greece, valid 7 to 15 days.

To check, download the GigSky app, scroll to Offers, tap the Visa banner, and add your card.

Adding your card doesn't charge you; it just tells you whether your card is eligible and how much free data you'd get. It's an easy way to try the eSIM Card for Greece before committing to a paid plan.

Where might another option suit you better?

GigSky is data-only, so if you specifically need a local Greek phone number for certain bookings or verification texts, a physical local SIM may fit better for that one task.

For everyone using WhatsApp, maps, and data on the go, the one-eSIM-for-all setup is simpler than juggling profiles per country.

On unlimited plans, remember high-speed data eases off after 3.5GB per day, which matters mainly for heavy streamers.

Greece eSIM FAQ

Is the free eSIM trial worth it?

Yes, if you haven't used GigSky before. The 500MB trial lasts 7 days and needs no card, so you can confirm coverage and setup work on your phone before buying a larger eSIM Greece plan.

When should I install the eSIM?

Install it at least a day before departure on stable Wi-Fi. Do that and your Greece eSIM connects automatically the moment you land.

Do I need to change any settings when I arrive?

No. GigSky connects automatically, so there's nothing to toggle when you get to Greece.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Yes, you can hotspot to travel companions and your other devices, though sharing uses data faster.

Can I use the same eSIM for both Italy and Greece?

It depends on the type of eSIM you buy. A Greece-only eSIM works just in Greece, and an Italy eSIM works only in Italy, so for both countries you need a regional eSIM that covers them together.

The GigSky Europe eSIM does exactly that, covering both Italy and Greece on one plan.

If you're taking a ferry between Greece and Italy, you'll want a ferry eSIM that works across European countries. Just check the ferry line you're traveling with to see if it's covered, and most lines are.

The GigSky ferry eSIM covers 100+ European ferries, and the easiest way to confirm yours is to download the GigSky app, tap Ferries, and search for your ferry line. You can also browse the GigSky ferry coverage.
