How to Redeem Your GigSky Visa Benefit in Minutes

What's Available, Depending on Your Card

The benefits break down into two main groups. Where your card was issued determines which one you get, and in some cases, you qualify for both.

If your Visa card was issued in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, or the Caribbean, you get up to 5 GB of free data valid in 175 destinations worldwide. 

Think of it as a GigSky free eSIM trial built into your card, no promo code required. The exact amount varies by country and card type, but most cards in the Americas receive 3 GB free for 15 days.

It doesn't matter which bank issued your card. Chase, Bank of America, Bancolombia, Caixa, and any other institution from the region all count, as long as your card carries the Visa logo.

If your card was issued anywhere else in the world, you qualify for the Visa Destinations benefit. 

This one launched in April 2026 and covers Thailand, the United Kingdom, France, the  World Cup host countries, and the UAE, with more destinations being added over time. Here's how it works by card tier:

Visa Infinite cardholders (consumer or commercial, including Canadian Visa Infinite Privilege): 7 days of unlimited data, plus 30% off any additional plans you purchase.

All other eligible Visa cardholders (consumer and commercial, including debit and prepaid): 3 days of unlimited data, plus 20% off additional plans.

One thing worth knowing: the unlimited data resets every 24 hours, with 3.5 GB of high-speed data per day. After that threshold, speeds reduce but you stay connected.

And if you have multiple Visa cards, each one carries its own benefit. You can add them separately and redeem them independently.

Already Have a GigSky Benefit? You Keep Both

If you're an existing GigSky eSIM user with a Visa card from the Americas, the Visa Destinations benefit doesn't replace anything. 

You keep your existing global data plan for 175+ countries and can also claim the Visa Destinations free data for the covered destinations. They're separate benefits and work independently.

Step-by-Step: How to Claim Your GigSky Visa Benefit

The whole process happens inside the GigSky app. You only need to verify eligibility once, and after that, your discounts apply automatically at checkout every time.

1. Download the GigSky app on your phone. You can find it on the App Store or Google Play.
2. Open the app and tap the Visa banner. It's visible on the home screen.
3. Tap 'Check Eligibility' and add your Visa card number. You won't be charged at this step. This is only used to verify whether your card qualifies.
4. If your card is eligible, you'll see the full list of GigSky Visa benefits and exclusive plans available to you. Tap 'Add Card Details' to continue.
5. Enter the rest of your card information.
6. Select the benefit you want to redeem and complete the checkout.

A Few Things to Know Before You Travel

The GigSky eSIM is data-only. If you need to make or receive calls while you're away, apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime work fine over data. There's no need for a separate calling plan in most cases.

There are no taxes or hidden fees when you redeem your Visa benefit. You won't be charged anything for the free data. 

If you run through your complimentary allowance and want more, you can purchase an additional plan, and your discount will apply automatically at checkout. No codes, no manual steps.

For the benefit to work, your phone needs to be unlocked and eSIM-compatible.

One Extra Note If You're Traveling During the World Cup

From April 1 through July 31, 2026, the USA destination benefit under the Visa Destinations program expands to cover all of North America for the World Cup — covering the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
