GigSky Names Sam King Chief Executive Officer

[PALO ALTO], Calif. — [OCTOBER 1, 2026] — GigSky, the global mobile operator delivering data-first connectivity in more than 190 countries, today announced the appointment of Sam King as Chief Executive Officer. Founder Ravi Rishy-Maharaj will transition to Chairman of the Board of Directors and serve as a GigSky Fellow, continuing to guide the company's technology and long-term vision.

The appointment comes at a moment of strength for GigSky. One of only roughly 900 licensed mobile operators in the world, the company has grown from a pioneer of eSIM data-only mobile service — and a key partner at Apple's eSIM launch in 2018 — into a business with four live revenue engines: travel data, IoT data solutions, enterprise A2P messaging, and wholesale voice.

King steps into the role after eight years at GigSky, having helped shape nearly every part of the business. He joined in 2018 through the acquisition of Simless, Inc., the cellular-connectivity startup he co-founded. Over the following years he took on roles of steadily increasing responsibility — beginning in strategy and business development, then leading worldwide sales, marketing and business development, before serving as Chief Commercial Officer and, most recently, Chief Operating Officer.

As COO, he managed the company's profit and loss and oversaw cross-functional teams spanning sales, marketing, product, network, engineering, and customer operations. Under his leadership, GigSky expanded well beyond its core travel-data business — adding new lines including application-to-person (A2P) messaging and international wholesale voice services — and scaled the company's Visa partnership into distribution at global reach.

Before GigSky and Simless, King held product marketing and management roles at AT&T Mobility and worked as a management consultant at Capgemini, and he served as a U.S. Army officer. He holds a BA in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard University and an MBA from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
