While some folks want to get away to sandy beaches and warm weather, many enjoy hitting the slopes and making fresh tracks during the winter. Though there are many different resorts to choose from, here are some of the most popular and consistently top-ranked locations for finding some powder.

Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia, Canada

Whistler is one of the largest ski resorts in North America, with over 8,000 acres of skiable terrain. It’s known for its diverse terrain, which caters to skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Whistler Blackcomb also has a vibrant village atmosphere, with a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and nightlife options.

St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria

This resort is known for its challenging terrain, which is popular with experienced skiers and snowboarders. It is also home to some of the best après-ski in the world.

Niseko United, Hokkaido, Japan

Niseko United is a popular destination for powder skiing and snowboarding. It receives an average of over 500 inches of snow each year. Niseko United also has a unique Japanese culture, which is reflected in its food, architecture, and nightlife.

Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt is unique in that it’s a car-free village. Located at the foot of the Matterhorn, it offers stunning views of the Alps and a variety of ski terrain for all levels. Zermatt is also known for its luxurious hotels and restaurants.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyoming, USA

This renowned resort is known for its challenging terrain and steep slopes. It is a popular destination for experienced skiers and snowboarders who are looking for a challenge. Jackson Hole also has a variety of other winter activities to offer, such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and dog sledding.

These are just a few of the top destinations for skiing and snowboarding around the world. When choosing a resort, it is important to consider your own skill level, interests, and budget. Also keep in mind that rules and regulations for safe-skiing/snowboarding vary from country to country, as does Ski Patrol services.
