GigSky is compatible with 9.7-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi + Cellular models. All models must be running iOS 9.1 or later, and must be used with an Apple SIM.

We recommend always updating to the latest available version of iOS for the best global coverage.

Apple SIM is configured in Wi-Fi + Cellular models in the U.S. and U.K. and is available for individual purchase at Apple Store locations in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and the U.S.

If you buy one of the compatible iPad models from a carrier retail store, it might come with a carrier-specific SIM that only works on that carrier’s network. Check with your carrier for details. When you activate a cellular data plan with certain carriers, your Apple SIM might be dedicated to that carrier’s network. A dedicated SIM means you can’t activate it on another carrier’s network. For example, if you activate an AT&T plan on your iPad, your Apple SIM will be dedicated to AT&T’s network. Your iPad remains unlocked, so you can buy another Apple SIM.

In order to activate a plan you must have a cellular enabled iPad, an Apple SIM card and must be within our network coverage.

To start, go to the Settings Menu, press Cellular (or Mobile) Data, Set Up Cellular Data. This will bring up a list of carriers. Pick GigSky and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once you’ve selected the destination country regional plan that is right for you press continue and you’ll be prompted to enter your personal information in order to create an account if you are a new customer or you can login if you’ve purchased a data plan before.

Before completing the data plan purchase you’ll be prompted to review your order. Once you press the Place Order button your plan activation will begin.

Once the plan is activated you will see a notification on the iPad confirming the destination country regional data is active and that it is connected to GigSky in the top left of the screen.

No. Using iPad with an Apple SIM means you can choose and configure your Apple SIM plan without needing a Wi-Fi connection.

Yes. If you buy another plan for a included country while an existing destination regional plan is still active, the data amount left on your existing plan will be added to your new plan, and the expiry date will be reset to the length of the new plan. If the “Top Up” option is shown when adding more data you will be adding more data and expiry to an active plan.

Example: You buy a  destination regional plan with  1GB of data. After 2 days, you have 100MB of data left and buy another 1GB  plan for an included country of the existing regional plan. The plan will now have 1124MB of data and expire in 30 days.

When you travel to any of the  included country of your active regional data plan you will be able to use any remaining data for the time remaining. Tip: If The dashboard of your active regional data plan is shown as active with a “Top Up” option, you have data to use in this new destination country.

Your GigSky account is completely managed from within the iPad device. Go to the Settings Menu on your iPad Press Cellular (or Mobile) Data and then choose: Manage GigSky account if you have an active plan Add More Data > Manage Account if you do not have an active plan

To check how much data you’ve used on your current plan: Go to the Settings Menu on your iPad Press Cellular (or Mobile) Data and then choose the Manage GigSky account option. Here you’ll be able to see how much data you have used and how much is left as well as the expiry of the plan.

There are a few things you can check if you have an active plan and cannot use data:

We recommend always updating to the latest available version of iOS v10.3 for the best global coverage.

Coverage: First to make sure you are in an area with coverage, look at the network indicator in the top left corner of the iPad’s screen. If you are connected to GigSky you are in an area with coverage. If the connection toggles between Searching and iPad, it’s possible you are outside of the coverage area.

Airplane Mode: Next, try resetting the network connection by turning on Airplane Mode. To do this go into the Settings Menu, switch Airplane Mode on for 5 seconds and then turn it off. Your iPad will then attempt to re-connect to the network and establish a data connection.

Data Balance: If this doesn’t work, check your data balance to ensure there is still data left on your plan and that it hasn’t expired. To do this go to the Settings Menu on your iPad, press Cellular (or Mobile) Data and then choose the Manage GigSky account option. Here you’ll be able to see how much data you’ve used and how much is left as well as the expiry of the plan. If you’ve used all the data in your plan or it has expired, you can purchase a new plan directly from this screen by pressing the Buy a New Plan button. Note: If you’ve used up all the data on your plan but it hasn’t expired yet, you will be able to use data at reduced speeds, which will allow you to purchase another plan.

Your plan starts immediately after the checkout process is complete and your device is automatically configured for the country that you’re in. You will receive an email confirmation of your order, and see an on-screen confirmation of your iPad being configured.

The plan expiry date is set based on the plan start date, and will vary depending on the length of plan purchased.

To check your plan start date and expiry date, log in to your account:

Go to the Settings Menu on your iPad Press Cellular (or Mobile) Data and then choose the Manage GigSky account option.

If you don’t see GigSky listed, try troubleshooting with these steps:

Coverage: Make sure you are in a country where we offer service. Check our coverage map.

Apple SIM: Next make sure that you have an Apple SIM properly inserted in your device, and that the SIM is not dedicated to another carrier network. For example, if you activate an AT&T plan on your iPad, your Apple SIM will be dedicated to AT&T’s network. Your iPad remains unlocked, so you can buy another Apple SIM.
